It makes me feel better about what I'm doing everytime I watch a Coach Greg video, because I seem to have already discovered this train of thought. The most unhealthy thing I've placed into my diet has been crispy chicken strips. I weigh them by the grams to make sure I don't over do it, and replace something like greasy french fries with baked sweet potato fries. Overall, a 800 calories dinner, but still only 2000 calories in total a day with exercise on a budget of 3 2600.
Had to go to a dietician, 2 private trainers and one of the most expensive gyms in the country to get 5% of the information I got from this video for free. Thanks Greg! P.S. I know he screams about that cookbook a lot, but think about it, if he gave away so much info in a video, how much do you get from the cookbook?
How would the cookbook (cookbook 1 or 2.0) work for a family? I am married with 2 young kids and I donāt want to make separate meals for myself. Thatās whatās holding me back from getting the cookbook

This is what I did to lose 40 pounds. And I always had backup chicken ready. If I didn't want to eat it I blended it. That's how most of meals were for like 4 months. I lived off of lemon juice and chicken.
Most people could already make a huge difference by just eating slower so they realise they are full before stuffing more food in.

Guys. lost tons of weight doesn't need to be hard (I used to think it did). I will give you some advice now. Get a popular weight loss diet plan called Custokebon Secrets (do a google search). My problem is I donāt get stuffed lol, Iām 1 of those that can just keep eating so low calorie dense food works sooooo well for me as I donāt have to reduce portion size, I just add more fruit and veg to my plate

I wish I could follow this but I guess my brain, or maybe my stomach, is just broken. I am only at the satisfied stage after around 4500 calories. I have eaten 5600 calories and still felt like I had room for more (so I suppose "full"). At my recommended to lose even a small amount of weight (around 2600) I feel hungry or starving all day. This is the same for me whether I eat pizza (10) all day or just fuckin oats (1) Fml

My grandfather has told this to me for the last 30 years, That's why he's 5'4 and been 145 since a teen. He's 77 now.
The pictures of delicious food made me hungry so I'm doing extra cardio (which I'm doing as I watch this, new duration PR up from 8 minutes) so I justify eating like a Gert post workout. I'm ahead of schedule, so it's okay I guess

Stir Fry tuna with a little soy sauce, ginger powder, and spinach is a life saver
What helped me no longer wanting to get stuffed: a soy allergy. A bleeding hand is such a good detergent from all these "fun" foods which contain soy as an emulgator. :D Half-joking aside: Your recipes and eating principles really helped me, Coach! I stopped nursing my second born and I can now eat 1700 kcal of your recipes and feel satiated the whole day (before I ate 2200 kcal of your recipes). I especially adore the banana-chocolate pancake. I love it more than the french toast! Oh, and the 100 kcal/piece muffin!
@greg doucette excellent video. i struggle a lot with this aspect. most of my eating i realized is boredom based or stressed. ive lost gained lost gained, more up and down than a truants report card. those aspects do effect what i eat. i eat one meal a day and try to make it the most healthy i can. but again chronic pain which i now found out what is causing it, a rare form of rheumatism. now with that food is vital to also controlling it. staying away from most carbs, high in uric acid such as pork, beer and so on. pain and depression caused me to gain again some of what i managed to lose due to caloric restriction. so the foods inside and outside of the circle which you mentioned to me now are very important and had to make subs for those. instead of potato chips i eat pee proteins crisps, more almond milk over regular milk or 1%. make the protein ice cream over regular ice cream and or frozen yogurt with modifications made to the protein ice cream. instead of the sweeteners, i use cane sugar with a little erythritol which i found out is the formula of splenda, i think. thats due to most artificial sweeteners accelerate arthritis in some people, so i was the unlucky one in that aspect. a clear mind for myself is also important that way i can focus, be happy, and enjoy life so i can make those changes. ive started it again. your videos do help i assure you greg, im just not the type to plaster it all over social media.

I want to know why, on days I lift, my hunger will not subside. No matter what I eat from the āļø diet or anything else. But itās really interesting on the days I go for an hour on the bike Iām not hungry afterwards or as hungry throughout the day.

My family and I eat one ice cream cone once a week. I think this is slowly helping my disordered eating a lot :) I used to have eating disorders in different moment in my life (anorexia and binging disorder) and Iām slowly not getting scared of eating ENOUGH but not binging. Iām not getting scared of breakfast, or almonds and Im feeling happier, and in control. Educating myself about protein and calories in and out and what diet is good for ME and not fad diets helped me sm. So now Iām eating like, not a very low calorie diet yet losing weight (-1lb per week) and not going crazy about starvation and eating more, like Iām okay??????? thank you Greg! Ps having two pieces of toast with tomato, an egg and an orange is an AMAZING breakfast holy shit i didnāt know about how nice starting my day couldāve been all this years lmao

For the last month or so, my go-to quick meal has been eating a can of tuna served warm over a gigantic serving of green peas. Sometimes I add a squeeze of light mayo and fat free cheddar to make the tuna more like you'd have on a tuna melt. So easy and tasty.

Really good advice, I started drinking water whenever I feel hungry because sometimes you're actually thirsty, not hungry. If I still feel hungry then I'll eat and this has helped alot with satiety and weight loss .
I freaking love the fact that I found a channel with someone who knows what they are talking about and most importantly can simplify the information, literally someone like myself with no lifting or diet experience can understand.

Doc is bit too liberal on the "if you feel hungry / full" part. I think a lot of people don't know or rather have lost the proper sense of feeling full or hungry. I am a pretty skinny dude and even I get mixed signals from my body. I think most people perceive being stuffed as being full and slightly hungry and/or even problems with the stomach as a sign of starving.

I'm certain now that high volume low cals doesn't work for everyone just like IF doesn't work for everyone. Been obese my whole life, lost the weight, eating the protein ice cream, taste good for sure but not that filling, I feel close to satisfied sure but I'm gonna need 2/day which is not normal in my opinion. So yeah been keeping the weight off for the past 6 months but hard to maintain, tried to eat as much calories as I could to get metabolism up and just started to gain 4-5 pounds back, then I took 200 calories out and it was my maintenance, problem is, maintenance is hard to keep even with a perfect diet. I haven't been "full" in maybe a year when I went to the buffet which means I probably ate 5x times my maintenance. (now that I remember I ended up at the hospital that night for over eating) I'm way past the good tasting food. Test levels are screwed. Still agree with the formula though, quite good. You guys have low fat stuff everywhere of course you can succeed without struggling too much... I mean to me France means butter. I can make a wrap for the same calories sure, problem is it's twice smaller than yours that's ridiculous. We have the highest quality foods in the world and best Chefs but that's it.

You get full, you just have cravings. Hunger and cravings are different.
If I eat whole foods only like fuits, veggies(lots of spinach and kale), potatoes, pasta, beans, tofu, oats and some protein powder for extra protein I am not hungry. If I eat chips, candy, ice cream, etc. I am a bottomless pit. I just can't stop. Eat a huge salad with spinach, veggies, a protein source and you wont want the chips. I make fudge brownies out of sweet potato and chocolate protein powder(and walden farms) if I'm craving sweets.

One important thing that coach Greg didn't mention, if you keep your circle at a reasonable level (for me it's 6-7 out of 10 tastewise), you will eventually get used to those flavors. I didn't believe this when my therapist mentioned it and I thought it was impossible, but after months of tweaking my habits, I swear to you, grilled lemon chicken with string beans tastes better to me than a cheeseburger. And when I eat something like chocolate, I'm satisfied with a couple of squares instead of eating the full 20 square bar. Take it from someone who at some point had 2 or 3 cheese and sausage sandwiches from Costco for lunch. Thank you, coach Greg for another video with great advice!!

I bought some plain white bread(Sara Lees), but whenever i eat it during my next workout i feel like it hasn't digested at all and feels like its stuck in my chest. I drink a lot of water and it even happened when i slept then woke up and worked out. Curious if anyone else has had this problem and curious if someone has a fix to it or knows any other brands that digest better.

I had half a year of maintenance never having a single choice over the foods I ate, then half a year of undereating but my days did food taste delicious since I didn't realise I was starving. I'm in a much healthier place now but my days does food taste good when you're hungry as hell. :'')

Because I KNOW I have no control with foods like giant soft batch chocolate chunk cookies and Ben & Jerry's, I simply don't ever buy them. This alone has saved me SO MANY unnecessary calories.

Love Greg's dieting advice. I have to kind of disagree with one thing, though. I have found that with enough G. Hughes or Walden Farms, I can make foods that are a 1-3 on the taste scale taste more like an 8 or better, so I don't ever feel like I'm eating a 5-6, no matter what it is.
I think Greg makes such an important point when he says that not everybody wants to eat to optimize performance. But I will add that even if you think your goals are purely aesthetics, performance plays a huge role in how much muscle you have and build. And I think for that reason your strategy for nutrition has to be a bit more nuanced than a graph that maps food based solely on how good it tastes and how full it makes you. And this is in now way to discredit how beneficial I think this diet can be. Especially if you are somebody who needs to lose a lot of weight, long term adherence is gonna be by far the most important thing, so the principles Greg is sharing are spot on for that.

The problem with my diet is I eat 3 toast and a shake with 3 scoops of Whey the morning, I eat Carrots and other vegetables for dinner and for supper I eat 1 bag of popcorn(No butter) and a shakeWith 3 scoop of whey, Iām satisfied about that but I donāt think itās very healthy.. I take 3 omega3 in the morning and multi vitamins.. What do you think of that guys?

I been doing the mistake 99% of the layman gymguys...eating too much just because of the illusion that going to gym makes the body worth that amount of calories....Coach Greg opened my eyes.....I have started eating less...and I am wearing my teen kids clothes now...lost some weight...
